Most of the time when you see a community name with the word “Harbor” in it, it’s actually spelled “Harbour.” I suppose it makes it sound more grand… Buttonwood Harbor doesn’t need the extra letter in its name. And it actually fits well since I think this community is as un-pretentious as it gets. Tucked away off the beaten bath, with an access gate that doesn’t beg to be noticed, this luxury community is charming and understated.
Buttonwood Harbor is a gated community of luxury estate homes with gulf access boat slips and some waterfront parcels. There is a wide variety of architectural styles including Mediterranean, Key West / Island Style, Modern/Contemporary and Old Florida. However, all homes have matching adorned mailboxes that give the community just enough consistency to be inviting.
The typical home in Buttonwood Harbor is 4 to 5 bedrooms with a 3-car garage and about 4,000 to 6,000 square feet. Street names include: Popash Court, Randag Drive, Panasoffkee Drive, Arbuckle Court, and Apopka Court.
North Fort Myers has been called the “opportunity side of the river” because of the low cost of ownership and large parcels. You can definitely get more for your money by going north of the River.
