“You can have a grill in this condominium complex but you cannot have a dog.”
Golfside is a small community of condominium-style owned units, developed in the mid 1980’s along Island Road Park in South Fort Myers. Golfside may get its mane by virtue of being located just outside the community walls of The Forest, a golfing community, and across the road from Terraverde Country Club. However, there is no golfing in Golfside. There are also no dogs allowed, as the Declaration of Covenants were amended in 1995 to exclude dogs. Only cats and small fish (such as goldfish) are now allowed.
The community has storage units outside the condo buildings where residents of Golfside may place their bicycles, grills and other belongings.

Island Park Road is located on the west side of US-41 South of Gladiolus Drive and North of Alico Road. Although there is a stoplight, most people do not realize the road is home to a myriad of boating communities. As such, it is a hidden gem in Fort Myers. If you like boating, being active, perhaps even shuffle board, this may be for you!
Island Park Road has Gulf access via the 10-mile canal which leads South to Estero Bay. Driving distance to area beaches are approximately 20-30 minutes and residents can choose to go North to Fort Myers or Sanibel or South to Bonita Beach.
