“Spanish stucco entrance leads to a quiet community surrounding a lake with new riverfront homes.”

Most homes in San Mateo were built in the 1970’s and 1980’s until recently the northernmost homes in the community situated directly on the river were torn down and spectacularly rebuilt.

Homes on Bonaire Circle with a house number that ends in an odd number are situated on the small lake within San Mateo. Homes ending in an even number are not lake front. This is one of the largest determinants of the homes value in this community, other than the unique features and size of the home, and proximity to the water/entrance.

Homeowners maintain their own yards (lawn care, landscaping). With a volunteer Homeowner Association, there aren’t many rules. Residents are able to store their boats on trailer on their property, keep pets and make their homes unique.

Residents live within 5-10 minutes of Bunche Beach, Tanger Outlets and the Sanibel Causeway, and 10-15 minutes from Fort Myers Beach.
