“An established community of single family homes, many occupied by original owners, on and off canals with direct access to the River and no HOA fees.”
Tahitian Shores is a community name used to describe the homes located west of Iona where the road bends around Iona Lakes Apartments. Iona Road is very close to the Caloosahatchee River at this point… so close you an see it at many places as you cruise through.
In this community, you can own a home on the canal and keep your vessel at a dock or on a lift behind your home for ultimate convenience. Or, if your home’s location is not on a canal, you can freely store your boat on a trailer and transport it to one of the many local drop-in locations.
The best part? There are no HOA fees!
Homes began construction in Tahitian Shores in the 1960’s and the area continued development steadily through the 1980’s until it was mostly developed. Since that time, new construction has been speckled throughout the streets: Bahia Court, Christine Way, Copra Lane, Iona Road, Myrtle Street, Omai Court, and Tahitian Drive.
Home values vary, depending on:
- lot size
- proximity to the water
- boat dock and lift
- year home was built
- features and upgrades
- size of home
Residents live within 5-10 minutes of Bunche Beach, Tanger Outlets and the Sanibel Causeway, and 10-15 minutes from Fort Myers Beach.
